Audemars Piguet Wins Battle of the Titans to Take Home
the 2010 King’s Cup Elephant Tournament
March 28th, 2010
After a week of intense competition the crowds were treated to a nail biting final show down with the Audemars Piguet team emerging as the victors to take the 2010 King’s Cup Elephant Polo held at Anantara Golden Triangle Resort in Chiang Mai.
In the first few seconds of the game it looked as though King Power was set to be on track to win the series with Gustavo Yanez scoring the first goal of the finals. But it was the precise teamwork of brothers Uday and Angad Kalaan and team captain Peter Prentice which led to the Audemars Piguet team to score their first goal only minutes later.
It was that first Audemars Piguet goal that seemed to boost the team’s stealth as there was no turning back, as they firmly planted their second and third goals moments later to finish the first half by 7:6.
As the second half of the game started it became obvious to the crowds that the overall experience of the Kalaan brothers, coupled with the power and expertise of fellow team mate Peter Prentice were no match for team King Power as they miraculously scored the next three shots bringing the tournament to an undeniable close for 2010. With a final score of 10 to 6 the winner’s cup was firmly in the hands of Audemars Piguet team.
